6.11. Upgrading Nodes

It is possible to upgrade the version of the software running on a node under InCenter control by performing the upgrade through InCenter.

The following steps are required to perform upgrades:

  1. Upload the software upgrade package to InCenter

    Upload the relevant NetWall node upgrade package (.upg) file to InCenter using SCP. The following is an example SCP command line for doing this: 

    > scp <filename>.upg admin@<InCenter_ip>:/firmware/

  2. Apply the uploaded file with the upgrade command

    The upgrade command is then used to apply the .upg file to a single node (groups cannot be used). If the upgrade package file called clavister-coscore-13.00.01.12-vmware-en.upg is to be applied to the node called my-node1, the CLI command would be the following 

    admin@InCenter:/> upgrade my-node1
			clavister-coscore-13.00.01.12-vmware-en.upg
Upgrading to firmware:
Version:     13.00.01
Date:        Thu Sep 19 11:02:50 2019
Platform:    X86
Description: Clavister cOS Core 13.00.01.12 upgrade package.
Warning: You are about to upgrade firmware on "my-node1" node
